Kwaku Manu
Ghanaian actor and comedian,
Kwaku Manu has vowed to vote against President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if
he does not change government’s decision to build the proposed film village in
the Eastern Region.
According to the comedian, the current government’s decision to
build a film village in the Eastern region must be changed out rightly.
Actors, film producers and people in the industry in the Ashanti Region have
cried for some months now after news broke that, the current government led by
Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has decided to build a film village in the Eastern
Region.
This
comes as promise fulfilment by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2016
election campaign.
But
some key figures in the movie industry in the Ashanti Region became
disappointed with the decision considering the fact that Kumawood is the hub of
local movies.
They
argue that Kumasi undoubtedly has become the central part for both movie
production and marketing hence Kyebi does not stand a chance of having such a
facility.
