Ashantigold will host their
Equatorial Guinea counterpart Akonangui FC on Saturday in the second leg of the
CAF Confederation Cup at the Obuasi Lenclay Stadium.
The Miners secured an important 1-1 draw in
the first leg which was played two weeks ago at Ebebiyin.
The last time Ashantigold hosted a continental
competition at the Obuasi Lenclay Stadium was 2015/2016 when they beat M O
Bejaia by a goal to nothing.
Ashantigold have lost only (1) of their last
(11) competitive games. interesingly the defeat came at the Obuasi Lenclay
Stadium against Karela United.
Ricardo da Rocha will be delighted with the
return of Amos Nkrumah and Appiah McCarthy who missed the first leg due to
respective injuries. The return of the duo will be a massive boost for the
miners ahead of the game on Saturday.
Akonangui FC will be looking to defy all odds
and beat Ashantigold to the next stage of the competition.
The Ebebiyin based club on the other hand,
need a high scoring draw (2-2 or higher) or a win to keep their African dream
alive.
Coach Pepe de la Sagra’s side will have to be
on top of their game in other to overcome the Miners a their own backyard

Eric Osei Agyemang who scored Ashantigold Only
goal two weeks ago has also been declared fit after struggling with his knee
after the game.
Akonangui on the other hand have no reported
injury or suspension in camp.

nineteen, drawn (10) ten and suffered (14) fourteen defeat.
Whilst Akonangui FC have played (15) fifteen
