CAFCL Preview : Kotoko vrs Kano Pillars- Redemption time for the Porcupines


Asante Kotoko will be looking to overturn a 3-2 defeat on Sunday when come up against Nigerian counterpart Kano Pillars  at  Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The Porcupines will be depending largely on their home advantage to beat the Masu gida side on Sunday.
Kjetil Zachariassen side showed some flashes of their brilliance in Nigeria despite conceeding two late goals to succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.
The last time the Porcupines warriors played a CAF Champions League at the Baba Yara Stadium was in 2015 against Algerians side MC Eulma, the Algerians defied all odds to beat the Porcupines and qualified to the round 16 of the competition.
Asante Kotoko are unbeaten in their last five home games in the CAF inter club competition, but drew their last home game against Al Hilal of Sudan.
“We going to score in Kumasi, we will exploit the weakness of Kotoko and take advantage of it. We are coming for a win and will not settle for a draw” Kano Pillars coach Ibrahim Musah ahead of the gamea against Kotoko.
The Aiteo Cup winners are brimming up with confidence coming to the game after winning the first leg by 3-2.
Kano Pillars have been impressive in their last five competitive matches, winning four and drawing once.
Any kind of draw at the Baba Yara Stadium will ensure their passage to the next stage.
Team News
Winger Augustine Okrah and play maker Jordan Opoku missed the first leg after failing to complete their registration. They duo are set to miss the second leg as well.
Songne Yacouba will sit out of the game after resuming training with the team last Monday.
For Kano Pillars , David Ebuka, Sunday Chinedu Adamu Hassan and Ali Malam will not be available due to the club lateness to complete their paperwork. The trio missed the first leg two weeks ago.
