Ghana Premier League
side Ashantigold are set to terminate the contract of their head coach Ricardo
Da Rocha just three days to the start of the Ghana Premier League.
This comes after the
Club Licensing Board directed all the Ghana Premier League clubs to ensure
their coaches have attained a CAF License A certificate before they can be
allowed to sit on the technical bench.
Da rocha was not named
in the approved list of coaches announced by the Ghana Football Association on
Tuesday December 24 ahead of the new season.
It has come into
conclusion that, the Obuasi based club has decided to part ways with the
Brazilian gaffer to make way for a qualified coach to steer the affairs of the
club.
Assistant coach Yakubu
Mambo Sharriff is expected to take over as interim as the club search for his
replacement.
Da Rocha was appointed
as the head coach of the club in July 2019 as a replacement for Kjetil
Zachariassen.
He led the club to the
second round of the Preliminary stage of the CAF Confederations Cup where they
lost to RS Berkane.
