Nigeria: Man Beats Wife To Death On Christmas Day

It’s always a joyful day believed to be the day Christ was born turned to be a dark and unforgetable day to a young man who is in his late thirties.

In well monitored news yesterday by Globaltipsgh.com, a 37-year-old Nigerian man, Mutiu Sonola, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly beating his 3-year-old wife, Zainab Shotayo, to death.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Ambibola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday (Christmas Day) following a report by the father of the deceased.

Mr Oyeyemi said the father complained at ibara police division that he was phoned that his daughter was having misunderstanding with her husband and that has been beaten to comma by the husband.

He said, the complainant further told the police that he quickly raced to the and rushed his daughter to the general hospital, Ijaye, where the doctor confirmed her dead.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Mutiu is fond of beating the deceased at any slight provocation and that the incident of that fateful day was a very minor disagreement.
