Former head coach of the Pharaohs of Egypt Hector Cuper is
interested in the vacant coaching job of the Black Stars, his agent confirmed.
Alejandro
Camanõ confirmed in an interview, that his client is ready to take over the
Ghana coaching job if approached.
“Cuper
is unoccupied now. He will be ready to coach Ghana if given the opportunity,”
Camanõ told reporters.
Cuper who qualified Egypt to their last World Cup in 2018 after
they missed out since 1990 is unattached, making him perfectly available for
the Ghana post.
According
to Camanõ, Cuper sees Ghana as a country with great talent capable of achieving
many laurels when handed the job.
“Ghana
is a strong team and a great country that can undertake a huge project and
achieve many glories.
“Mr.
Cuper is full of ambitions and dreams. He is always working like that and lives
the dream of every nation as he did in Egypt,” Camanõ explained.
Cuper
also was a key to Egypt’s journey to the finals of the AFCON in 2019 which they
lost to Cameroon in Gabon.
“Mr.
Cuper also likes the slogan of the new President of the Ghana FA
#BringBackTheLove,” he added.
The
64-year old Argentine manager is an experienced manager who has handled many
clubs including Parma, Inter Milan, Valencia, Real Mallorca, Real Betis and
many others.
He
has also handled many national teams including Georgia and Uzbekistan.
The
Ghana Black Stars coaching job has been vacant following the decision of the
Ghana Football Association to dissolve all national teams a fortnight ago.
