The season’s table toppers Medeama SC travel to Dansoman on
Saturday hoping to keep intact their impressive start to the campaign against a
winless Liberty Professionals side.
The
Mauves and Yellows were in ruthless form when they easily dealt with Hearts of
Oak in their second match of the campaign. Aside the emphatic nature of the
result, their overall performance should give Coach Samuel Boadu’s side
confidence when they travel to the Carl Reindoff park; a venue they have
recorded very positive results.
The
home side, Liberty Professionals have unimpressed so far, failing to win any of
their two games. They would however feel hopeful following a resolute
performance in their last outing against Berekum Chelsea.
In
a game many expected them to lose, the Scientific Soccer lads pulled hair
through their noses to hold out for a hard-fought goalless draw with their
young goalkeeper Ganiwu Shaibu emerging the man of the match.
If
form is anything to go by, this should be Medeama’s game to lose but never
underrate a Liberty side desperate to prove a point after an average start to
the campaign.
Coach
David Ocloo’s side will be determined to claim maximum points against one of
the best teams in the league this season.
TEAM NEWS:
The
home side have no major injury worries and coach David Ocloo should keep faith
with the squad that made the trip to Berekum to secure the 0-0 draw with
Chelsea.
Medeama
Coach Samuel Boadu has named an 18 man squad and unsurprisingly, the injured
trio of Eric Kwakwa, Rashid Nortey and Bright Enchil miss out.
Bernard
Ofori who only completed his return to the club hours ago also did not travel
with the team.
The
squad comprise the delightful attacking trio of Ebenezer Ackhabi, Prince Opoku
Agyemang and Nana Kofi Babil. Key midfielder Kwasi Donsu who made a brief entry
into the Hearts game will be pushing for a start here.
