On Thursday 27, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Health has confirmed the first case of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) case in Nigeria.

to legit.com, Dr Osagie Enahire, Minister of health, said in a signed confirmed
statement that the case was confirmed by the virology laboratory of the Lagos
University Teaching Hospital. This comes as the first case to be recorded in
the country since the virus broke out in the epicentre, Wuhan, China in
January. The carrier of the virus is an Italian citizen who returned from
Milan, Italy to Lagos to work, on Tuesday, February 25.

“The patient is clinically stable, with no serious symptoms,
and is being managed at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos,” the
statement noted.
