Jordi Cruyff, the coach of Ecuador, spoke to SER, over
the spat between Messi and Abidal.

It is incredible what happened…. When you are in a
difficult time it is best not to talk, let the players and the coach speak, but
not others not.
Messi never speaks and if he has done it, it means the
dressing room is really upset. He wants to say, “Gentlemen, you made that
decision, not us,” Cruyff said.
Asked if he might take Abidala’s job, Mr Cruyff smiled.
“I was just saying that’s not what should happen, and
so is this. In the end, it’s morbid.”
