It happens dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale does not do his checks before speaking on big platforms like UTV’s United Showbiz which took place yesternight.
On
United Showbiz yesterday, Shatta Wale made a statement in reference to how
people often put Stonebwoy ahead of him or even jab him because he has not won
a BET award.
Shatta Wale said Stonebwoy shouldn’t fight for a BET Award but rather focus on winning an IRAWMA, which is The International Reggae and World Music Awards.
Shatta
simply wanted to say that he has won an IRAWMA, but Stonebwoy hasn’t, yet
people who are not informed always jab him because the latter has a BET which
according to him – Shatta – is meant for RnB and HipHop artistes.
Nevertheless, a fact that
Shatta is the most honoured Ghanaian artiste at the International Reggae and
World Music Awards, bagging four honours in the years 2014, 2015, and 2016.
However, we are made to believe the dancehall king did not do proper checks before speaking, why so? – Stonebwoy has also won two IRAWMAs thus in 2016 and 2020 for emerging the Most Promising Act and the Best African Reggae/Dancehall Entertainer respectively.
With
this on the table, things are clear that Stonebwoy has equally won the very
award that Shatta is asking him to win so they can be on the same level.
Though Shatta has more awards than Stonebwoy, one thing is clear that he – Shatta – still lacks a BET in his closet and we don’t know when he is going to make up for that.
Perhaps
he should also focus on winning that to be on Stone’s level.
