Self-acclaimed queen of Ghana Music, a signee under RuffTown record label, Wendy Addo, popularly known as Wendy Shay has subtly spat on the hard-earned reputation of Samini as one of the top-flight musicians in Ghana and West Africa as a whole.
To
be the first Ghanaian musician to win a MOBO Award in 2006 with Reggae is a
feat that one cannot overlook. For the past twenty years, Samini has managed to
be among the top four most relevant and respected musicians in Ghana.
One cannot make a list of top four musicians in Ghana and exclude Samini, especially when it’s a list of the top ‘S‘ in Ghana, thus Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Samini.
However, Ghanaian musician, Wendy Shay, who
is signed onto Rufftown Records has decided to change the norm by spitting on
Samini’s spot which is tantamount to disrespect.
The “Shay On You” singer took to twitter to make a list of the 4S in Ghana, as a norm, one would expect a list of the aforementioned male musicians, but Wendy Shay took Samini out of the list just so she could fix her name there.

Though
she did not specify the order it is clear that She mentioned Shatta as the
biggest among the four and herself as the least among the four as she excluded
Samini.
For
someone like Samini who has groomed the likes of Mugeez, Stonebwoy, and Kofi
Kinaata, this is a big disrespect from an artiste like Wendy Shay who is yet to
win a second VGMA award.
