Two (2) police officers of the Ghana Police Service have reportedly gone missing on the Oda River at Korbro in the Obuasi Municipality in the Ashanti Region.

Corporal Akwasi Boateng and Stephen Kyeremeh were part of a four-member
team of officers who were returning from across the river after pursuing some
suspected criminals in the area when the canoe ferrying them capsized.
According to reports, the criminals were
said to have crossed the river during a hot chase so the police officers
decided to chase them at all cost.
Unfortunately,
two of the aforementioned officers drowned and went missing while the other two
were able to swim safely.
The Ashanti regional police command has initiated a search for the missing officers.
