Vice President of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia earlier today
held a meeting via video call with American business magnate, software
developer, investor, philanthropist and co-founder of Microsoft Corporation, Bill Gates.
Bawumia in a post on his Facebook page
disclosed that three key issues were discussed during the meeting.
He
said;
1. Ghana’s progress on
immunization against the new circulating vaccine-derived polio virus type 2
(cVDPV2).
2. The lessons from Ghana’s
policy response to COVID-19.
3. Ghana’s digitization
strategy.It was a good exchange of views and he congratulated Ghana for the
strides we have made on several fronts. I also thanked him and the Gates Foundation for their successful
work in the fight against polio and other diseases. I was joined in the meeting
by Dr. Oko-Boye, Deputy Minister for Health.
