Teachers across the country can after the long wait smile as the
much-awaited Professional Teachers Allowance (PTA) in no time hit the
various bank accounts of both professional and non-professional teachers across
the length and wide of the country.
Controller and Accountant General’s Department
(CAGD) which remains the government institution responsible for the
payment of salaries, arrears and allowance for government workers sent a notice
to teachers in this regard to check their professional status on their
electronic payslips.
In a much-awaited mood, teachers will be giving
GHc1,200 for professional teachers and an amount of GHc1,000 to
non-professional teachers across the country.
Teachers Licensure
Examination and the payment of Professional Teachers Allowance were the
two main policies that received the media attention by the administration.
This policy was made possible by the ruling New
Patriotic Party (NDC) administration which is led by His Excellency Nana
Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo and his committed Member of Parliament for Manhyia
Constituency in the Ashanti Region who doubles as the Minister of Education.
As expected of the Minister for teachers to remember
of the payment and honour the government in the forthcoming elections, teachers
can definitely receive the payment this month as the elections is just a few
days away.
