Ozil who is a German professional footballer playing for Premier League giants
Arsenal has urged fans and Muslims to join him in disarming fears of practising
Islam with kindness.
The
former Real Madrid star while lamenting blamed the media for helping the fear
of practising Islam to grow in Europe and many parts of the world.
Ozil
made this clear in a message he posted on his Instagram page as he enjoined his
fans and Muslims to be kind to one another.
'Unfortunately
Islamophobia & Antiislamismus is growing in Europe and in other parts of
the world with media playing a big role in that. ''My personal answer to that
is we should respond to Islamophobia & Antiislamismus in a way that will
not reinforce it, but rather disarm and silence it with kindness.''
Mesut Ozil is one of the big footballers who are practising Islam and he has many times demonstrated his love for the religion even on the pitch.
Ozil started his football career at Schalke 04 and played 30 games at the club before he moved to Werder Bremen where he featured in 71 games and scored 13 goals.
Between
2010-2013, Mesut Ozil played 105 games for Real Madrid scoring 19 goals before
joining Premier League giants Arsenal.
Since 2013 that Mesut Ozil has been playing for Arsenal, the German has represented the Gunners in 184 games and scored 33 goals.
