It has finally been confirmed that one of the soldiers involved in the military armored vehicle crash last month in Bolgatanga is dead.
Private Korang George who hails from Aputuogya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region is one of the seven victims of the accident.
Prior to the incident, he was with the 11 Mechanize Infantry Unit at Bazua near Bawku in the Upper East Region and would be buried on November 21, 2020.
It would be recalled that early last month during President Nana Akufo-Addo’s tour of the Upper East Region, occupants of an armored military vehicle sustained various degrees of injuries after they were involved in an accident.
The accident involving the armored vehicle commonly referred to as MOWAG and another light arms police vehicle MyNewsGh.com gathered, was said to be part of the President’s convoy heading to the Bolgatanga Regional House of chiefs on the Bolgatanga-Navrongo highway.
Local reports suggested that the MOWAG collided head-on with the police vehicle and somersaulted as it tried to catch up with the pace of the presidential convoy.
The injured were immediately rushed to the Bolgatanga
Hospital but two including the deceased who were in critical condition were
airlifted to Accra but he died later on admission
