The Agyapa Deal continues to generate so much controversy. Based on the Risk Assessment Report from the Office of the Special Prosecutor, the President called for the Agyapa Deal to go back before Parliament.
This was received with so much joy by many especially the opposition and Civil Society Organizations who felt their cries have been heard. Ghana is just 25 days away from its general elections and already the political tension in the country is soaring.
Today Thursday November 12, 2020 on Randy Abbey’s Good
Morning Ghana morning show, Sammy Gyamfi, and Kweku Baako clashed in a verbal
debate over Agyapa Deal and Electoral Commission issues.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer
of the NDC the Agyapa Deal cannot be sent back to Parliament.
Kweku Baako was of the view that the deal was good and
deserved a relook in Parliament. Sammy Gyamfi was however reluctant and
resisted calls for the deal to go back to Parliament.
“There are breaches in the document and procurement process.
They are breaches that cannot be repaired in Parliament. There are people in
the deal who have been indicted. How can Parliament deal with this? These are
criminal matters.
Put
those indicted before court” Sammy Gyamfi fumed. Randy Abbey had to end
abruptly as the two argued over who was right.
