After leading the New Patriotic Party to an emphatic victory in 2020, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Party, Chairman Wontumi has told his critics that he would remain at the post and deliver another victory for the party in 2024.
“You can’t
tell me to resign, I won’t resign and I will remain at the post”, he boldly said
on the Wontumi Morning Show via a telephone interview.
He described
his position as Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP as a sacrificial job that
doesn’t pay. According to him, despite knowing that some people don’t like him,
it took the favour of God for him to reach where he is politically.
He added that their main political opponents were
sponsoring some journalists to downplay the significant numbers the NPP polled
from the region knowing very well that it was mammoth.
