This might come as a surprise to many, but reports
from Uk has it that Chelsea FC manager
and legend, Frank Lampard is set to be sacked with Thomas Tuchel being named as
his replacement.
Owner Roman Abramovich is
thought to have been keen to bring Tuchel to Stamford Bridge.
According to Goal, Frank Lampard
is set to be sacked from his role as Chelsea manager, having guided the club
for just over 18 months, following five defeats in the last eight games.
It comes just 24 hours after his
3-1 win over Luton Town in the FA Cup, but the club’s Premier League form has
led to growing concerns.
Lampard was appointed as manager in July 2019 and spent more than £200m last summer on players including Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
His spell, however, will come to an end after a disappointing run of results left them off the pace in the fight to qualify for
the Champions League.
47-year-old former Paris
Saint-Germain coach, Thomas Tuchel, has been named as his replacement after
holding talks with the club’s board over the weekend and is likely to be
appointed in the next 24 hours.
Chelsea’s first-team squad were
told not to report to training this morning, according to the Telegraph.
Confirmation of Lampard’s dismissal is expected later today.
