HOT AUDIO: Kennedy Agyapong Reveals 98% Of Mmdces To Lose Their Jobs

In the next Akufo-Addo administration, only two percent of the municipal chief executives (MCEs) and district chief executives (DCEs) will be retained.

According to Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kennedy Agyapong, about 98 percent will lose their livelihood.

The acts and inactions of the MMDCEs led to the defeat of most of the MPs, he claimed unambiguously.

In the December 7 national election, approximately 33 New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs lost their seats to members from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The election of Speaker Alban Bagbin, who was the NDC candidate, is all the more complicated.

Although the Speaker is considered to be very fair, the NPP argues that President Nana Akufo-Addo will have trouble getting most of his proposals enacted into law.

Therefore, Ken Agyapong said, the blame should be placed at the doorsteps of the MMDCEs who, rather than the public interest, pursued their personal interests.

“These MMDCEs are bogus; they triggered the loss of the MPs and I know 98 percent of them will be dismissed,” he said in an interview on Accra-based Oman FM Friday.

But Mr. Agyapong said some two percent, including his own DCE, did extremely well and he would campaign for them to be re-established.

The ruling party, which previously had 169 seats, is now on par with the NDC, with 137 seats for both political parties.
