The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has
filed a case against the Member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency,
Madam Toffey Dorcas.
The party has filed at the
Sekondi High Court accusing Madam Toffey Dorcas of holding dual citizenship.
According to the NPP, the
National Democratic Congress(NDC) Member of Parliament of having both Ghanaian
and Ivorian passports.
Already, the NPP has secured an injunction against
the Member of Parliament for the Assin North Constituency, Mr. James Gyakye
Quayson on similar charges.
This follows a petition by Michael Ankomah -Nimfa of
Assin Bereku seeking to annul the declaration of Mr. James Gyakye Quayson as
the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin North Constituency.
The petition is alleging that Mr. Quayson owes
allegiance to both Ghana and Canada which contravenes the provision of Article
94 (2) (a) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
