Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has added
his voice to the campaign that the president should close down all schools
across the country. The spread of the coronavirus in the country is becoming
worse and more dangerous to our health, the new variant of the virus is
spreading everywhere in the country and across all the 16 regions.
The rate at which people are
contracting the virus and dying is becoming uncontrollable, scientists and
researchers have put their lives at risk trying very hard to come out with
something to cure the virus.
Ghana has become one of the
country with high number of cases covid-19 with some few weeks after the 2020
elections, not less than 700 cases are recorded every day, the number of active
cases recorded so far is 6,938. There have been several cases recorded on
covid-19 which are from our various schools, over 150 students have tested
positive for the covid-19 and people are telling the president to shutdown all
schools across the country to reduce the spread of the virus.
The member of Parliament who
represents Assin Central in parliament for the New Patriotic
Party, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has also agrees that the government should
close down all schools across across. Kennedy Agyapong was ask in an interview
to give his concerns on the extreme spread of the virus in the country,
responding the question he said Ghanaians should adhere to the safety
protocols seriously to stop the spread of the disease.
He also advised that, the
government should consider and shutdown schools as the second wave of the virus
is becoming more dangerous. I completed school at very old age but that didn’t
stop me from being successful, so if closing of schools is the best way to safe
the children then I support the the president to close all schools across the
country, he said.
