Adwoa Sarfo, the member of parliament for the Dome Kwabenya constituency
has alerted Ghanaians on very important information and has received
several reactions. Adwoa Sarfo has inspired many young women with her
courage and hard-working attitude. A woman of her caliber who was alleged to
have all that she needs as a woman of her age
surprised Ghanaians with her boldness.
She has stormed the Parliament House in
a very positive spirit and boldly battled learned men all in the quest to prove
herself as competent for her position as member of parliament on several
occasions. Recently, there have been a trend in Ghana concerning the
legalization of LGBTQ. The terms lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,
and questioning (LGBTQ)
describe distinct groups within the gay culture.
The LGBTQ legalization has hit
Ghanaians and people are contemplating on whether to accept it or not. In her
reaction to this, Adwoa Sarfo revealed that Ghanaians are having a culture or
way of life which prevents them from practicing it and hence should be
abolished.
Social media users have reacted to this as she stated that if
she is given the chance to choose between the legalization and her position,
she will resign in favor of Ghana’s unique culture. If this is the case then
I’ll resign because I believe in Ghana’s culture and what we have achieved over
the years as Ghanaians- she stated after she was asked the question above.
