The Nabdam Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party
Lawrence Agengre has been suspended by the party for diverting campaign
resources.
According to a letter signed by
the Upper East Regional Secretary of NPP, the embattled youth
organizer was directed to respond to the allegation against him within 4 days
of receiving the letter.
The letter further directed him
to hand over all properties of the party in his possession to the Constituency
Chairman during the period of suspension.
It could be recalled that the
Upper East Regional Secretariat was petitioned over the alleged misconduct in
respect to 3 polling stations in the Kongo electoral area.
His suspension was based on the
decision taken on the petition presented to the Upper East Regional
Secretariat.
The Nabdam Constituency and its
happenings became topical after the 2020 election considering the fact that it
was one of the Constituencies the party earmarked for victory in the 2020
elections.
But that was not to be as the
party lost woefully although resources were invested into the constituency.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) won only one seat in the Upper
East region although the party had targeted 7 seats in the 2020 election.
The party as a result of its performance has since put
together a committee to ascertain the cause of the heavy defeat in the region.
