Management of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has agreed in principle to lift their ban on Dancehall heavyweights, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy ahead of the 2021 edition of the awards.
The Head of
Public Events and PRO at Charterhouse, Robert Klah shared the exciting news
during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.
“It was in principle decided that the ban should be lifted,” he told the
host
He stated the only reason it’s
yet to be made official is because Charterhouse will be meeting both artists
with their management to come into a clear understanding of certain happenings
to avoid future altercations.
“There is a reason why this altercation happened and you want to
be sure that they don’t resurface. You want to have that kind of conversation
to understand and agree on how things should move,” Mr Klah added.
He also stated there will be a
chance for the two artists to submit their entries even if they couldn’t meet
the two artists before the deadline day of nominations.
The BHIM Boss and SM CEO were
banned and stripped off their 2019 awards won after a brawl during that year’s
edition of the award and Should Charterhouse be able to sort out issues with
the two artists Successfully, that will confirm their participation in the
event this year event. a piece of very good news to their various fanbase and the award
scheme in General with all eyes going to be on one particular award ‘Dancehall
Artist’ of the year.
