Report convoked has it that a
Radio Station of one NPP’s Chairman has been raided down by fire which gutted
the department. Meanwhile, occupants of the department in the Amansie Central District
of the Ashanti Region wandered helplessly in uncontrollable tears as the fire
tore through the entire edifice, sparing nothing in its way.
The inferno, apart
from gutting all the residential apartments also swept through the premises of
DomPeace 97.5 FM, owned by the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the
Odotobri Constituency, Mr. Dominic Bosompim.Eyewitnesses say the fire started
around 1:30 AM Sunday dawn from a small room serving as a kitchen in the house;
it has not been established what caused the fire but tenants say there was
nothing combustible not electrical wiring in the room.
Speaking in an
interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM on Monday morning, a journalist
with DomPeace FM, Eben said some of the essential equipment in the station,
like the transmitter were salvaged.
The DomPeace FM
station was the only radio station in the Amansie Central District reaching
over 100,000 people in that enclave.
