by the Director-General of Ghana Education Service.
Our
portal gathered that the Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Professor Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa has stipulated that having a licensure certificate cannot
be a yardstick for Ghana Education Service to recruit someone as a graduate.
The
Director-General also stated that, although the licensure certificate is one
requirement for Ghana education service during recruitment. But it does not
mean you will be recruited.
According
to him in an interview on UTV, he reiterated that, the subject or your course
of specialization is a major factor because GES recruit to fill specific
vacancies or specific subjects.
” We said
you must have your licensure before you can teach, so if GES ask for teachers
with specialization in Geography, then you can apply” He added.
He also
revealed that, the teacher licensure examination was introduced by Ministry of
Education and Ghana Education Service to provide teachers with license.
Meanwhile, is not automatic that you will be recruited.
