Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel will have their hand full when they
take on West Brom on Saturday in the ongoing English Premier League.
German tactician who has been lauded for his exceptional
transformation of the Chelsea squad since taking over from Frank Lampard now
faces a selection headache with his key midfielder N’Golo Kante set for spells
on the sidelines.
Kante sustained a hamstring injury while representing France
in their world cup qualifiers and was send back to the Cobham training facility
for the club doctors to establish the severity of his injury.
The London based side host relegation battlers West Bromwich
Albion on Saturday in an early kick-off match and the former Paris Saint
Germain will be without Kante for the clash with the Sam Allardyce side.
This could present the gaffer
with an opportunity to unleash the Scottish ‘Makelele’ in the mold of Billy
Gilmour with the tough-tackling academy graduate ready to fill the void Kante
will have left.
Gilmour has the same stature as Kante and he plays the same role
as the french Midfielder of a natural destroyer and ball winner for his side
and in the few chances he has been accorded, the Scottish midfielder has
provided glimpses of why he should he featuring more for the side.
The diminutive midfielder has all the qualities to feature for
Tuchel’s side and with Kante out, this presents Gilmour with an opportunity to
lay his mark at the Stamford bridge.
