Timo Werner has been
ridiculed due to his missed chances at the start of his Chelsea tenure and his
ability to find goals this lead to him lacking confidence and him being
labelled a flop.
Werner himself in
interviews has acknowledged that he has not been performing his best and has
even taken blame for Lampards departure. There has been massive improvement in
Werners performances and looks like he is slowly gaining his confidence back.
Werner has improved
his ability to assist his team mates as when he is not scoring he is providing
for Chelsea as he has 5 assists for Chelsea this season in the premier league
and is always trying to make a difference.
When Werner is not
starting for Chelsea our attack is often stagnant and lacks movement this was
evident against Leeds where we struggled to create many chances and needed
someone to make runs in behind and we were disappointed in the final third and
created 0 big chances.
Werner has improved
under Tuchel in his new role where he is not being deployed too wide and has
been one of Chelsea’s top performers recently when Werner regains his full
confidence there is no doubt that he will be pivotal in this Chelsea side.
Chelsea fans need to
realise that even if he is missing chances he plays an important role in how
quick Chelsea are on the counter and his pressing never lets opponents feel
comfortable on the ball.
