Less than 48 hours after a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in Madina a suburb of Accra, a deputy director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) at Akatsi North one Philip Caezar Kumah has physically assaulted his fiancée, Elizabeth Yesutor to death.

The victim who has been subjected to various forms of beatings previously has constantly refused to heed advice to leave him.

The suspect, Phillip Caezar Kumah had constantly been beating his girlfriend whom he was due to marry. She made a police report after one such beating episode and he prevailed on her to withdraw the case for home settlement only for him to beat her now to death.

The victim died at the Ho teaching Hospital on Monday, March 8, 2021.

According to the Volta Regional Police PRO, Sgt. Prince Dogbatse, the suspect has been remanded into police custody and is due to be processed for court.

“I had background information on the issue and so I asked the victim to report to the police but that didn’t happen. The gentleman is now in our custody and hopefully, we’ll be going to court today, then we’ll see what happens.

“In one such case, she was hospitalized but after she gained her health back, she went to withdraw the case. There have been various instances where he had abused this lady,” Sgt. Dogbatse told Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Thursday.
