Anthony Joshua And Tyson Fury Have ‘Accepted Fight Offer’ Confirms Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn has confirmed Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have both agreed a site offer for their heavyweight unification bout this summer. Both fighters have been considering offers from a number of venues this week to host their blockbuster battle to crown the undisputed champion of the world.

Official confirmation is now another step closer with Hearn revealing both Joshua and Fury and their respective teams are in agreement over the fight location having also met with ‘The Gypsy King’ this week.

Hearn told Behind The Gloves: ‘Both sides have approved the site offer that they want to go with, and now we’re just finalising the site deal and we’re in a great place.

‘I saw Tyson yesterday. I just messaged him and said, ‘I’m in Vegas, I’m in your hotel if you fancy a cuppa’.

‘We just had five or 10 minutes together and it was good, because I don’t represent Tyson Fury, so I don’t know what is in his mind. What he basically cemented in my mind was, this is the only fight he wants, and I know that’s the same with AJ.

‘It just good to say, right we’ve got the offer, we all approve. We’re moving forward now. We’re good. ‘It has been agreed by both sides, the option that we will take, and you’ll get the date very soon and the official announcement.’

Speaking to IFL TV, Hearn revealed the 70,000-seater Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was not the option Joshua and Fury have agreed upon. The Matchroom chief also insisted there is no chance the fight takes place any later than this summer, insisting both fighters are eager to fight twice in 2021.

‘We are now closing that contract with that site,’ Hearn said. ‘The Allegiant Stadium is one of the sites that is in play but the offer we have had that the fighters and teams accept is not Allegiant Stadium but it will be revealed shortly.

‘We’ve got the site deal now and everyone is happy. ‘It is now just to finalise the venue, make sure everyone is happy with that, the exact date. It’s a summer fight, we are not drifting into September, October, November.

‘It’s a summer fight and that is the latest hurdle that has been overcome. It was probably the biggest one to overcome after that both signed the agreement. ‘Those offers were presented to the fighters. They are happy and we just do the necessary paperwork and we are good to announce it.’
