A hattrick from Sam Kerr two from Kirby and one for Guro Reiten
ensured Chelsea Women crushed Birmingham City 6-0 in the Barclay’s FA Women
Super League game.
It was an
interesting game as Emma Hayes’s side was dominant throughout the entire game
which was a one-sided affair between the two teams.
First Half Report Chelsea 3-0
Birmingham Women
The Blues team had everything under control in the first half
of the encounter which saw them scoring three goals and provided a very
commanding display.
Sam Kerr opened the scoring for
Chelsea Women in the 25th minute after a great attack saw the Australian who
buried the ball beyond Hampton from close range to make it 1-0.
Birmingham City was poor in
defending as Sam Kerr grabbed her brace in the 45th minute when she headed home
a Pernille Harder assist to make it 2-0 for her side in the game.
She
immediately grabbed another goal which made it a hat trick after an outstanding
45+ minutes finish to make it 3-0 with just a few minutes left to go in the
half.
The first half
of the encounter finally ended with a 3-0 scoreline for the home side who had
everything going their way before they headed for the break with an advantage.
Second Half Report Chelsea 3-0 Birmingham Women
It was still
another 45 minutes saw the home side dominating play to make an amazing
second half encounter was perfect with goals coming from them once again.
Birmingham
City Women still couldn’t find a solution to cover up their leaky defense which
Fran Kirby scored another goal to make it 4-0 in the 61st minutes with an
assist from Bethany England.
Chelsea made it 5-0 in the 72nd minute, and this time it came
from Reiten which saw Kirby charged into the box then received the ball from
Charles and tees up Guro who slots into the bottom corner.
Fran Kirby
increased the lead to 6-0 after a superb goal which came in the 90+ minutes as
she was able to finish well without making any mistake to make it her brace.
The match
finally came to an end which saw Emma Hayes side finishing with a 6-0 result
that means them remaining top of the League table with few games left to go.
