Since the appointment of new boss Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have suddenly clicked into gear and gound their stride, losing one two of his first 20 games in charge of the London outfit.
They are now in the hunt for a top
four spot for next season’s Champions League. Under Tuchel’s management, the
club has also reached the Champions League semi final, for the first time in
over a decade, as welll as the FA Cup final against Leiceister City.
However, despite this improvement, one area that Chelsea have struggled in is the attacking department. The club’s three senior striker, Timo Werner, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud have all struggled for form in front of goal this season with the club understood to be interested in bringing in at least one striker in the summer.
However, a new general has emerged in the Chelsea
forward line in recent weeks and that is big money summer signing Kai Havertz.
The German international has thrived in a new false nine role for Chelsea this season under his compatriot Thomad Tuchel, after struggling for form under former boss Frank Lampard.
The German international has played
very well in the false nine role and Chelsea maybe willing to give him an
extended run in the team as a number nine.
