Chelsea players will be hoping to climb into the top four on Tuesday despite the uncertainty surrounding next season’s Champions League. The Blues are just a point behind West Ham in fourth with a game in hand and even a draw would be enough to see leapfrog the Hammers.
Brighton’s hopes of remaining in the Premier League were boosted by Fulham dropping three points on the weekend. The Seagulls are just six points above the bottom three but they hold a game in hand over the Cottagers.
Havertz bagged a goal and assist against Crystal
Palace as he helped guide them to a crucial victory. He was brought on as a
substitute in the FA Cup semi-final but is expected to lead the line for the
Blues on Tuesday.
Chelsea will welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening knowing that a victory would see them move into the top four in the Premier League table. The Blues are currently fifth in England’s top flight, a point behind fourth-placed West Ham United, while Brighton occupy 16th position, six points clear of the relegation zone.
Chelsea will take on Real Madrid in the
semi-finals of the Champions League, with the first leg due to take place at
the end of April, but they cannot afford to take their eye off the ball in the
Premier League.
The games continue to come thick and fast all across Europe and in England, Gameweek 32 of the 2020/21 Premier League season continues into the midweek. On Tuesday night, Chelsea will play hosts to Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge, aiming to be back in the top four.
Chelsea have endured a
roller-coasted of a 2020/21 campaign, having gone from the top of the table to
nearly dropping into the bottom half when Frank Lampard was in-charge. Under
Thomas Tuchel, the Blues have been far more convincing, although they have lost
two of their last five games. However, they come into the game on the back of a
1-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final.
