Bayern Munich have
emerged as the front-runners in the race to sign Reading playmaker Michael
Olise, who is also a target for PL giants Chelsea and Man City.
The U18 France international began his footballing journey
at the Man City academy and spent some time in the Blues youth setup before
switching to Reading in 2015.
Having risen through the ranks rapidly, Michael broke into
the senior team in 2019 and has not looked back since. To date, Olise has
managed to play 64 games for Reading, contributing 5 goals and 12 assists.
His displays in the current campaign have been brilliant
as he has managed five goals and ten assists in 35 Championship games,
establishing himself as one of the talented teenagers in the second tier.
The 19-year-old playmaker’s rise to prominence with the
Royals has seen him draw admiring glances from some of the top teams in the PL,
including the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, while two of his youth teams
Chelsea and Man City are also intent on re-signing him in the summer.
However, it has now emerged that Bayern Munich are leading
the chasing pack in the race to land the French attacker. Bundesliga giants
have already raided Reading once this year for left-back Omar Richards, who has
signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Bavarians at the end of the
campaign.
Now, Die Roten are
hoping to make a swoop for Michael as well. Olise is entering the final year of
his contract at the Championship club and has shown no intention of wanting to
pen a new contract.
