Wednesday Morning transfer rumours and latest updates for
some clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and others as they are ready for the summer
transfer window to open.
Report: Chelsea, Manchester United to battle for
Paulo Dybala this summer
Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly
join Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala this
summer.
Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United have
reportedly joined Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Juventus forward
Paulo Dybala this summer.
The 27-year-old’s future with the Serie A
giants is in doubt as they are yet to negotiate a new
deal with the player, who will see his contract expire at the end of next
season.
According to Tuttosport, Chelsea and United are both monitoring
Dybala’s situation and are prepared to make a move for him this summer if they
are made aware of his availability.
Man United
eager to sign 28-year-old Premier League goalkeeper
Man
United are reportedly keen on re-signing their former shot-stopper Sam
Johnstone if Dean Henderson or David de Gea leave the Theatre of Dreams this
summer. England international came through Red Devils academy but failed to
make a single first-team appearance for the club and after multiple loan moves,
was sold to West Brom in 2018.
Sam
is now impressing for the relegation-threatened Baggies with his form earning
him a maiden senior England call-up for March’s World Cup qualifiers. Red
Devils two primary stoppers, David De Gea and Henderson, have been battling to
be the Norwegian manager’s No.1 this campaign, with the latter currently
occupying the spot.
Arsenal linked with£35m move to sign Fluminense starlet
Arsenal
are keeping a close eye on Fluminese star Matheus Martinelli regarding a £35
million summer transfer, according to reports.
Brazilian
outlet Globo Esporte state the Gunners have been tracking the 19-year-old
midfielder for the last few months.
Arsenal
have been impressed by what they have seen so far from the attacking star – no
relation to the 2019 acquisition Gabriel Martinelli.
And now Emirates senior figures
are set to make a move for the in-demand star who has a £35m exit clause in his
contract.
Martinelli only made his debut in the winter of 2020, but has
already scored three times in 11 matches, impressing scouts across the globe.
However, it’s reported Arsenal will not launch a move for the
No10 should they manage to renew Martin Odegaard’s loan deal or make it
permanent.
Arsenal closely monitoring
No.11 Ivory Coast international
The London club have rekindled their interest
in Wilfried Zaha ahead of the summer transfer window as the Spanish boss
continues his search for offensive reinforcements. Ivory Coast international
has been favoured to leave Selhurst Park after the end of the campaign, with
the Eagles now set to cash in on him.
Wilfried, a self-confessed Gunners supporter, was close to
securing a move to Arsenal back in the summer of 2019. However, a transfer did
not materialize as Crystal Palace stuck true to their hefty valuation of Zaha.
It led to Arsenal eventually settling for an alternative in
Nicolas Pepe, with the move being sanctioned through various installments.
Pepe’s move to Arsenal, though, has not quite worked out for the Gunners, with
the 28-year-old forward often struggling with a lack of form and consistency.
The Ivorian forward has seemingly settled in with the pace of
English football, but there remains a lack of temperament as well as the
confidence that has ultimately stifled his progress in north London
Liverpool are desperate to sign
18-year-old Spain international
Barcelona are taking steps to
secure the long-term future of Pedri. The 18-year-old playmaker is being tailed
by the Merseyside giants over a potential move in the summer transfer window,
with his current contract with Barca have a £70m release clause.
Pedri arrived at Camp Nou from Las Palmas last summer after the
deal between the two teams had initially been agreed on a year before. The
switch to Barcelona has ended up working wonders for La Liga giants as well as
Spain international, who took no time to establish himself as a pivotal player
in Ronald Koeman’s side.
In fact, the Spanish attacker, who has 3 goals and 6 assists in
44 games across all tournaments for the Blaugrana this term, has missed only
one game all campaign, illustrating his importance for Barcelona despite his
nascent age of 18.
Pedri’s progress, though, has certainly not gone unnoticed, with
the Reds keeping a watchful eye on him over the course of the season.
Barcelona reportedly set to
offer contract for Juventus transfer target –
As soon as Manchester City announced the
departure of their all-time goalscorer Sergio Aguero, all sort of
speculations arose regarding his future.
As expected, Juventus were quickly considered among the
potential suitors of the Argentine, considering the fact that the management
has become specialized in signing glamorous free agents.
The 32-year-old could in fact be replacement for one of the
current Juventus forwards, as Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata
all face uncertain futures at the club for different reasons.
Nonetheless, the Old Lady could be left behind, as another major
European club could pounce on the situation.
According to Spanish newspaper Sport (via TuttoJuve), Barcelona
are set to make an offer for the former Atletico Madrid man
