Former Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United striker, Michael Owen, has predicted today’s English Premier Leagues, EPL, fixtures.
Chelsea will
host Leicester City on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge, while Manchester City
will tackle Brighton in an away Premier League tie.
Manchester United will face
Fulham at Old Trafford, while Southampton will clash with Leeds United.
Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor, “These two
played out a close match in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday with a
superb Youri Tielemans goal securing the trophy for the Foxes.
“This is another huge match between the two. UEFA Champions
League football is on the line for both sides and with Liverpool breathing down
their necks, this is a match neither can afford to lose.
“I’m expecting another tight game, although I do think back on
home soil, Chelsea has enough to take a huge three points. Chelsea v Leicester
City (Tuesday 20.15) 2-1
On the Brighton vs Manchester City game, Owen said, “Champions
Manchester City travel to the South Coast to take on Brighton in a match that
means little to either side. We all know of City’s heroics this season and
Brighton can also take credit for how they’ve played at times over the course
of the campaign.
“With the addition of a striker, the Seagulls’ could do much
better next term, however, on this occasion, I can only see the points going
one way. It’s 2-0 to the Citizens for me.”
Commenting on the Manchester United vs Fulham match Owen said,
“Manchester United come into this having lost back-to-back Premier League
matches. They will be desperate to get back on track ahead of their Europa
League final against Villarreal at the end of the month, so I’m expecting a
positive line-up from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“For Fulham, they have lost their fight against the drop and are
simply playing for pride at this stage.
“The Cottagers’ haven’t won at Old Trafford since 2003, and after suffering the disappointment of relegation, I think United will have too much for the visitors again. Fulham 0, Man United 3.”
On the Southampton vs Leeds
United fixture, Owen said, “Southampton will be delighted to see the return of
fans to St. Mary’s ahead of their final home game of the season. Their 3-1 win
against Fulham was their second on the bounce, as was Leeds’ 4-0 win against
Burnley.
“Of the two, it will probably be Leeds that are happier with
their campaign overall, however, I don’t see much between these two and think a
draw is the likeliest result. It’s 1-1 for me.”
The kick-off
time for Chelsea vs Leicester City is 8.15 pm, while that of Brighton vs Man
City is 7 pm and Man United vs Fulham and Southampton vs Leeds is 6 pm.
