Edouard Mendy Sends Message to Chelsea fans on Timo Werner and Kai Havertz form

The German players both arrived at Chelsea last summer with a Big-money move from Bundesliga sides and life in Premier League has not been as not been easy for the dou, with Chelsea Fans demanding more in every game

Chelsea Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy believes Chelsea fans will have to be more patients and waut till next season to see the very best out of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

Timo Werner was signed for £49.5million from German side RB Leipzig following his impressive campaign last season. While Kai Havertz was bought from his boyhood club Bayer Leverkusen with a whopping £70million.

Many fans expected both Werner and Havertz to transform Chelsea to Premier League contenders which is not happening yet rather Chelsea remain a team fighting to secure a Premier League Top-four spot along with West Ham United, Leicester and Tottenham Hotspur.

Timo Werner started well with some ray of hope after he struck the back of the net eight times in his first 11 games for Chelsea. But his performance is now getting poor every game. Past six month has been the most difficult period of his career with just six goals since November 2020.

Kai Havertz deal came late, the deal was completed in just ten dats to the start of 2020/2021 season. Havertz wasn’t untilized well in his best position during the start of the season as we can see Ex-coash Frank Lampard played hin in an unfamiliar midfield role.

Recently, both player looks to be in a good form, with Timo Werner breaking a 10-years-old Premier League record of hitting double figures for both assists and goals. A fit last achieved by Eden Hazard in 2012.

Kai Havertz on the other hand has been saving Chelsea lately, his last two goals came in Chelsea 2-0 win over Fulham last saturday afternoon.

The Blues goalkeeper Mendy, having witness all their ups and down has come out to make a bold prediction ahead of next season.

“They are really good players,” Mendy told Chelsea’s club website. “They are young players and it is the first time that they have moved to another country.

“I think they needed a couple of months to adjust and understand the Premier League but I see them every day and I know how good they are.

“I am happy for them. They showed their qualities on the pitch.

“Next season, 100%, we will see the best of Timo [Werner] and Kai [Havertz]. Even this year, we have enjoyed their good levels of performance and they are important for us.

“A game like Saturday is really good for their confidence.
