Tuchel Reveals How He Plans To Deal With Sergio Ramos Return To Real Madrid Back Line In The Second Leg

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel might have revealed his perfectly laid out plan on dealing with Real Madrid’s defense on Wednesday with Sergio Ramos returning to their backline.

Both European giants played a one-all draw last week in the first leg of the Champions League Semifinals with goals coming from Christian Pulisic and Karim Benzema.

The Blues go into the second leg with an away goal advantage while Real Madrid go into the game with several injury returnees.

One of the most important returnee for Real Madrid is Sergio Ramos, who is not only their captain but also the best defender at the club and one of their most important players.

Thomas Tuchel was asked on the Chelsea website about how he intends to deal with the return of Sergio Ramos, he responded jokingly saying:

“If we play with no striker at all and Ramos has nothing to fight then that can also be a solution. I have not made my mind up yet.

“It’s another challenge because he is the leader of their group and he is the guy to give a lot of solutions to any questions that we will hopefully ask them.” He continued

“We will wait and see who is in good shape and good form, what shape we play and where we try to hurt them. I’m not too sure if they will play again with five or go back to four [in defense], so there are many questions but we don’t need the answers now. It’s enough if we have them on Wednesday.” Tuchel concluded.

Raphael Varane is a doubt for the game, but Ferland Mendy and Eden Hazard have returned to full fitness and are both expected to start against Chelsea.
