UCL FINAL: Check How Much Chelsea Will Get With City Win As Players Get Super Bonus

Victory against Manchester City in the Champions League final on Saturday night will be worth more than £95m in prize money to Chelsea, with the squad set to share a £10m bonus if they become kings of Europe for the second time in the club’s history.

The players will still earn £5m if they lose to Pep Guardiola’s side as part of a collective agreement made at the beginning of the season that sees the entire squad rewarded.

While key players will get a larger percentage of the pot, unused squad members will receive a portion of the bonus. That means the likes of Tino Anjorin and Tammy Abraham will earn some extra money despite having only appeared in the group stages. Twenty four players have been used by the Blues throughout the European campaign.

Chelsea have already made €106.8m (£92.3m) from this season’s Champions League run but will get an additional €4m (£3.45m) for winning in Porto. That is slightly more than what the City could earn because the West London club has a stronger historical coefficient.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has been boosted by Edouard Mendy and N’Golo Kante taking a full part in training yesterday.

The goalkeeper came off at half-time in Sunday’s Premier League game away to Aston Villa having hurt his ribs when colliding with the woodwork, while Kante tweaked a hamstring in the win at home to Leicester City nine days ago.

Chelsea fly to Porto later today. They will train at Estadio do Dragao tomorrow afternoon, with Tuchel and one of his players set to address the media in the evening.
