N’Golo Kante, a Chelsea midfielder and France international, put up another outstanding performance in the Uefa Champions League final against Man City on Saturday night.
Although Chelsea won the game courtesy to a solitary goal from
Kai Havertz, Kante was voted man of the match for his midfield effort.
After his latest achievement, many football fans, including Chelsea supporters, have predicted Kante to win the Ballon d’Or.
However, Kante, who is known for his modest lifestyle, has dismissed the possibility of winning the prestigious honor.
Kante told RMC Sport, “It’s incredible.”
“It’s the culmination of a lot of hard work, and it comes after
a lot of challenges throughout the season.
“Winning Man of the Match is a bonus. The work of the entire
group is the most important factor. It is a source of pride and delight. We
battled hard to make the final. We have suffered today, and now we have our
reward.”
When asked if he could be considered for the Ballon d’Or this
year, Kante said, “No, for the time being, we are savoring the Champions
League, the Euros are coming up shortly.” I’ll be joining France’s team, and
I’m hoping to win there as well.”
