Thomas Tuchel Delivered Verdict On Aubameyang Amid Talk Of Chelsea Move

 

 




Thomas Tuchel has already given his verdict on Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid rumours that Chelsea are on the hunt for a striker.

Reports have suggested that the German coach, who guided Chelsea to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League during the 2020/21 season and also claimed Champions League trophy, aim to bolster his forward line this summer with Timo Werner enduring a difficult debut season.


The Blues have linked with a numbers of top striker with including Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland, but reports by  The Telegraph claim, Gunners captain Aubameyang, who Tuchel coached in his time at Dortmund become an emerged target for the west London club.

Aubameyang, 31, produced remarkable performances in front of goal, by netted 79 goals in 95 games over two full season under the Blues current head coach as the pair lifted the DFB-Pokal.


It’s clear then that each of them know how the other operates and Tuchel has already hailed the Gunners striker’s influence and goal-scoring talents ahead of a potential move this summer.

Talking last month, Tuchel said: ‘Back in the days at Dortmund, it was a pure pleasure to have him in the squad. Auba was a fantastic striker, a fantastic finisher on the pitch.


‘But more than that, he was a fantastic worker off the pitch. I think he did not miss one single training in two years.

‘Yeah, it was a very reliable relationship because he delivered an unbelievable amount of goals, his speed was unique in Bundesliga and he was a crucial player.


‘It was a pleasure to work with him, always a smile on his face, very, very honest guy. A bit of a crazy guy, but this is nice crazy’

After leaving the Bundesliga giants, Aubameyang continued to be as lethal as ever, scoring 85 goals in 148 games for Arsenal despite enduring a disappointing campaign in 2020/21 season.

The Gabon international still has two years left to run on his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
