Now that the summer transfer window has been officially opened, several football clubs will be looking into the transfer market in order to identify players that would improve their current squad.
Chelsea football club are
not exempted though as they look to challenge on all fronts when the 2021/2022
football season begins.
The Blues will aim to
compete with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool for
the Premier League trophy next season and must improve the squad available to
manager Thomas Tuchel in order to do that.
And even
though the West London club have been linked with moves for Borussia Dortmund
striker Erling Haaland and Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, they could
now be rocked with reports that young central midfielder Lewis Bate is close to
departing the club this summer.
The 18-year-old England
International, who has been with the club since 2011 has found it difficult to
break into the Chelsea first-team squad.
The young central midfielder is
believed to be disappointed with his lack of first team football and has refused
to sign a new contract at the club.
Lewis Bate has less than 12 months left on his current contract and the Blues are now willing to cash in on him this summer, rather than lose him on a free transfer next year.
And according to reports from Goal correspondent
Nizaar Kinsella via his verified Twitter page, the highly-rated youngster is
close to sealing a move to Leeds United.
The reports further claimed
that Leeds United have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign the young central
midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.
That said, Lewis Bate is now set to continue his developments at the Elland Road under the management of Marcelo Bielsa.
