Tuchel just like Emery is hoping to cause his Super Cup opponents problem in the tie on 11th August
Unai Emery has
already launched his traits of wanting to use the Super Cup to prove his side
is strong enough to face teams as strong as the reigning European Champions.
But it clearly
won’t be an easy task against Chelsea’s first German manager who led them to
UEFA Champions League after inhering the club halfway.
Unlike Manchester United, Villarreal knows they are not going
up against an easy side, rather a club who went from mid table to top 4 finish
after the employment of their current manager.
Chelsea saw an easily deserved win against Atletico Madrid,
F.C. Porto and Real Madrid to knock off Manchester City for the third time this
season to win the UCL.
Tuchel after adding to his cabinet, first ever UEFA Champions League trophy hopes to add the Super Cup with a win against Villarreal on the 11th of August.
Speaking ahead of the tie in an interview today, Tuchel said;.
“What nicer way to start the season than with a European final! I have huge respect for Villarreal and Unai Emery. I mean, they will have to call (the Europa League) the Unai Emery Trophy soon! He’s incredible.
“I think they will approach this game feeling they have nothing to lose. We will do all we can to take the trophy, though.”
Chelsea will take on Tottenham on their next Pre-Season game after triumphing over Arsenal in their last friendlies with goals coming from Kai Havertz and Tammy Abraham while Xhaka tried to help Arsenal with one.
