Chelsea football club must be keen on winning the prestigious Premier League title this season after splashing the cash during the summer transfer window.
The West London club added some players to their squad to
boost their chances of competing with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester
United and Liverpool for the title.
However, that has quite worked out for Chelsea so far as they
are currently occupying the first spot on the Premier League table going into
the international break.
And despite their good run of form, Chelsea are keen on
improving their defensive options and have been linked with a move for Real
Madrid central defender Eder Militao.
The 23-year-old Brazil International, who joined Real Madrid
from Portuguese side Porto in 2019 has been an important member of the
first-team squad since he made the move.
Eder Militao enjoyed an interesting
2020/2021 season where he scored two goals and provided one assist in 21
appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid.
The young central defender has also enjoyed a flying start
to the 2021/2022 season and has made 16 appearances in all competitions,
helping Real Madrid to second position on the La Liga table.
His impressive performances in the
heart of defence is said to have caught the attention of Chelsea and according
to reports from The Sun, Chelsea have made a bid
worth up to £34 million to sign him from Real Madrid.
The reports further claimed that the Blues are desperate to sign
the young centre-back and have also offered him a huge salary increase in order
to lure him away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
That said, it remains to be seen if the offer will be enough to
tempt Real Madrid into selling the highly-rated central defender when the
transfer window opens next year
