All eyes are on Chelsea FC as they could have a better look next season should they make progress in securing the signature of some of the top stars already linked with a move to join them during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea have
one of the best squad in England and Europe at large and could even have a
better one should some of their transfer plans fall in place.
Here are the
three players who are linked with a summer transfer move to Chelsea.
1) Erling
Braut Haaland.
The Borussia Dortmund star man
is one of the best strikers in the world and arguably the best amongst his age
mates. It is not difficult to understand why many clubs are after his
signature.
The Norwegian has only played six Bundesliga games this season,
but he has nine goals and four assist to show for it. Though he is currently
injured, he still one of the top scorers in the division.
Haaland has been linked with a move to Chelsea for a while now
even before they signed Romelu Lukaku, and could still join the Blues.
At Inter Milan, Lukaku played alongside another striker in
Lautaro Martinez, they both excelled and scored a lot of goals. The same
chemistry they shared could also happen between Lukaku and Haaland should the
Dortmund star play alongside Lukaku next season.
However, Chelsea are not the only side linked with a move with
Haaland, with Manchester United also interested in the Norwegian forward.
Chelsea can sign Erling Braut Haaland for a fee in the region of £64m next
summer, as it is the release clause in his contract.
2) Kylian Mbappe:
The Paris Saint-Germain striker
is one of the most sought-after players in Europe. He was linked with a move to
Real Madrid last summer, only for his French club to block the move.
He is a player who Thomas Tuchel would love to have in his squad
again, haven coached him while he was in charge of Paris Saint-Germain at Parc
des Princes. However, the Blues would need to see off challenges from
Manchester City and Real Madrid in other to be able to sign the 22-year-old
French star.
3) Wesley Fofana.
Thomas Tuchel knows the
amount of quality possessed by the Leicester City defender. The 20-year-old
French defender has been out of action through injury, but would regain his
place in Brendan Rodgers’ side once he recovers.
The Blues who already have the likes of Christensen, Thiago
Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Sarr and Chalobah, could still be willing to add Wesley
Fofana to that list.
