Roman Abramovich last week announced he’ll be selling the Champions League winners, with calls for sanctions on the businessman after Russia invaded Ukraine.
Several potential buyers have been pushed forward and some
have even been vocal about their intentions, including Wyss. The businessman
made his intentions public at the earliest opportunity, and said he’d be
looking for investors from the US to help him with the purchase.
Blick say ‘now it’s getting concrete’ with the group managed
by Wyss having submitted their first offer. The amount of that offer is
‘secret’ but there’s clearly optimism that a deal for Chelsea can be done, and
that it can be done quickly.
The Swiss newspaper sound very
confident on behalf of Wyss’ efforts, and it’s even stated a ‘deal is set to be
finalised in London soon’. The rush is down to Abramovich’s desire to sell
Chelsea quickly, with the threat of sanctions still being present.
Now it’s down to the Blues’ current owner to decide if the
offer presented is enough for him.
