Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Thomas Tuchel's post-match press conference after Chelsea's pre-season 4-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
The Blues – set up in an unfamiliar 4-3-3 formation – produced a woeful
opening 45 minutes against the Gunners and went into the interval two goals
behind. Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring for the Gunners with a well-taken
finish and Martin Ødegaard doubled the lead after firing home from inside the
Chelsea penalty area.
Tuchel made three changes at the interval but the most important switch
was in Chelsea's formation; the Blues reverted to their tried and trusted
3-4-2-1 and were far better for it. That was at least until Bukayo Saka fired
home Arsenal's third goal midway through the second period.
Chelsea were unable to threaten the Arsenal goal and the Gunners
completed their rout in stoppage time when Eddie Nketiah finished off the
scoring after poor marking from stand-in right wing-back Callum Hudson-Odoi.
We will have the post-match thoughts of Tuchel, who is unlikely to be
happy with what he saw in Orlando.
Not quite sure how long the
Chelsea head coach will be. Hopefully, he's not doing a post-match debrief as
that could take a while!
