Celebrated Ghanaian media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has criticized the majority of Ghanaian politicians for being “senseless and unpatriotic.”
Speaking about the role of political acumen and responsibility in
the nation’s governance, Nana Aba stated that only 8% of Ghanaian politicians
fit the bill.
She made these comments during a live studio discussion on 3Music
TV where she averred that the remaining 92% of politicians across the
divides are just in the system to milk the state. These politicians, the media
personality emphasized are primarily the loud ones who constantly insult the
intelligence of other people.
Nana did not shy away from expressing her concerns about the quality of
political leadership, emphasizing the need for a more thoughtful and
accountable approach. The 8% figure she cited suggests a significant gap in the
perceived sensibility among Ghanaian politicians.
”I see so much in this country, and I am looking at some of our
politicians. Only 8% of our politicians are sensible across the board. The rest
of them are just there, not by dint of hard work, not because they are so
passionate about this country.
They just see the opportunity to milk the state, and they are
doing everything possible to get there. They are the loud ones, always
insulting, I don’t even want to go there. I think we could do better, things
are changing and that’s why I like this generation because this generation is
better than our generation,” she said.
