Latest Chelsea news as rumours of replacements for Mauricio Pochettino appear following chants for the Argentine to be sacked over the weekend.
Chelsea have identified Ruben Amorim and Roberto De Zerbi
as replacements for Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine is once again under
pressure at Stamford Bridge following Saturday's 2-2 draw with Brentford. Having failed to earn a win against a team with
three straight defeats, sections of the fanbase made their feeling known with
X-rated chants aimed at Pochettino and co-owner Todd Boehly.
"Yes,
I've been told but I did not hear, to be honest," Pochettino said when
asked about the chants at full-time.
"That is why it is
difficult for me to understand. I don't know. I need to believe what you are
telling me but it is normal. We were losing the game 2-1 and it's about to
express their frustration and we are responsible. I am responsible. I am the head
coach."
Pochettino
faces an uncertain future after a mixed run of results and
there are now doubts over whether the 52-year-old will be in charge for next
season.
Losing
the Carabao Cup final to an injury-hit Liverpool side last month hasn't helped
the Argentine's case. Chelsea's hopes of achieving European football now rest
on their FA Cup success, with them facing Leicester City in the quarter-finals.
